From 11:59pm Thursday 10 June, metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria will see changes to restrictions.

For metropolitan Melbourne
From 11:59pm Thursday 10 June:
- Stay at home requirement removed.
- 25km travel limit replaces 10km limit.
- Restrictions remain on travel to regional Victoria, with only limited reasons to travel. You may not travel to regional Victoria to go hunting.
- You can go hunting within 25km of your home when and where it is permitted, as long as it is not in regional Victoria.
Face coverings:
- People aged 12 years or older must continue to wear a fitted face mask when leaving home, unless they have a lawful reason not to.
Public social gatherings:
- Maximum of 10 people outside the home

For Regional Victoria
If you live in regional Victoria you can continue to travel in regional Victoria, with no restriction on distance. This means that regional Victorians can leave home to go hunting at any location in regional Victoria, when and where it is permitted.

Hunting and travel
If I live in regional Victoria, can I go hunting?
Yes. If you live in regional Victoria, you can leave home to go hunting when and where it is permitted in regional Victoria.
I live in regional Victoria, can I go hunting with friends and family?
From 11:59pm Thursday 10 June if you live in regional Victoria you can go hunting in a group up to 20 people.
If I live in metropolitan Melbourne, can I participate in recreational activities like fishing and hunting?
From 11:59pm Thursday 10 June fishing and hunting within 25km of your home is permitted.
People who live in metropolitan Melbourne must not enter regional Victoria to go hunting or fishing.
I live in regional Victoria, can I travel through metropolitan Melbourne to another part of regional Victoria to go hunting?
A person who resides in regional Victoria, may travel through metropolitan Melbourne in order to travel to another part of regional Victoria if necessary.
If you stop in metropolitan Melbourne, it must be:
- to shop for food and essential goods or services
- to provide care, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment
- for authorised work or study
- if another exemption applies, for example, if it is an emergency, or if you are required to do so by law.
If travelling through metropolitan Melbourne, you must follow the Melbourne restrictions.
If I live in regional Victoria, can I go camping overnight in regional Victoria?
Yes, you can go camping in regional Victoria, if you live in regional Victoria. You can camp with the people you live with or your intimate partner.
I live in metropolitan Melbourne, can I go hunting within 25km of my home and camp overnight?
From 11:59pm Thursday 10 June camping overnight in metropolitan Melbourne is permitted with the people you live with or with your intimate partner or part of a single social bubble.
Season arrangements
Will the 2021 duck season be extended?
The 2021 Victorian duck hunting season opened on Wednesday 26 May and will close on 14 June 2021.
The season will not be extended as it enters a time when ducks are under pressure due to cold weather, natural food shortages and when they commence breeding, including pair bonding, nest building and egg laying.
